Doing Good

Brighten Your Smile, Help the Life of a Child!

Did you know that when you whiten your smile at Roy Dental Care, you can help a child? We have teamed up this year with Smiles for Life Foundation to raise money for ill, disabled, and disadvantaged children. Here’s how it works!

  1. Schedule an appointment to get your teeth professionally whitened or for anything else between March 1st June 30th.
  2. Ultradent donates the whitening materials.
  3. Our practice donates our time and expertise to professionally whiten your teeth.
  4. 100% of the proceeds go to Smiles for Life Foundation, benefiting children’s charities locally and around the world. Smiles for Life will then give 50% of the proceeds to Gigi’s Playhouse or Youth Futures.

We are so excited to be part of this great cause! Call us to schedule your appointment today and please let your neighbors, co-workers, family, and friends know about this awesome opportunity to give!

What is Smiles for Life Foundation?

From March through June, hundreds of dental practices throughout the U.S. and Canada professionally whiten teeth to raise money for seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged children in their local communities and around the world. They are members of the Crown Council, an alliance of leading-edge dental teams that are passionately committed to promoting oral health, fighting oral cancer and serving their communities through charitable work.

The Smiles For Life Foundation is the children’s charity arm of the Crown Council. Ultradent (makers of Boost in-office teeth whitening and Opalescence® take-home trays) donates ALL of the teeth whitening supplies, and participating Crown Council dentists donate ALL of their time to whiten teeth during the Smiles For Life campaign. Together, they offer professional teeth whitening services at substantially reduced prices (donations) with 100% OF THE PROCEEDS GOING TO THE FOUNDATION TO HELP KIDS’ CHARITIES.

Since 1998, the Smiles for Life Foundation has raised over $36 million, benefiting hundreds of children’s charities. When you pay for your teeth whitening, you’ll write your check directly to the Smiles For Life Foundation, not to the dental practice. Fifty percent of the donations are earmarked for each dental practice’s local charity partner (Gigi’s Playhouse), and the balance goes to the Smiles For Life Foundation to be distributed to worthy and approved children’s charities across the U.S., Canada and worldwide. Participating children’s charities include Children’s Miracle Network, Children of Romania, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, CURE (in Cambodia), Smiles For Hope, and the Kids Cancer Care Foundation.

What is Gigi’s Playhouse?

Gigi’s Playhouse is an achievement center for individuals with Down Syndrome. Gigi’s Playhouse offers a variety of activities, all free of charge. With more than 30 therapeutic and educational programs that advance literacy, math skills, motor skills and more, Gigi’s Playhouse empowers individuals and their parents to achieve their greatest potential with confidence, independence, and joy.

What is Youth Futures?

We partnered with Youth Futures for our Smiles for Life Campaign this year. Youth Futures provides safe shelter, collaborative resources, respectful guidance and diverse support to homeless, unaccompanied, runaway and at-risk youth in Northern and Southern Utah.

Why should I whiten my teeth professionally?

Professional consultation ensures both safety and effectiveness. While over-the-counter teeth whitening systems may seem less expensive, many find that in order to achieve acceptable results, they’re constantly buying and bleaching. Experts agree that professional teeth whitening is the way to go for dramatic, longer-lasting results and convenience. And, of course, in this case it helps others as well as yourself.

How much should I donate?

To participate you can choose from 3 whitening options with a starting donation of $50 (all three options are discounted about 50% off). You get a bright beautiful smile, and all the money goes to charity, helping needy children. However, if you don’t want your teeth whitened, you can always donate any amount toward this campaign.
