Your Roy UT Dentist
What is general dentistry? As your general dentist, we’ll be the people who understand your oral and dental health better than anyone else. We’ll see how your teeth change over the years, and we’ll work to prevent major problems from developing.
It’s a great benefit to you to keep regular appointments with us, preferably every six months. When you get your teeth professionally cleaned, you’ll be preventing cavities and other dental challenges.
We can save you money by catching health issues before they develop into more serious ones that require expensive, lengthy procedures. At each examination, we will search for any potential threats and work to keep you as healthy as possible.
As your general dentist, we can provide almost every dental procedure you could ever want—and many that you’ve never heard of. Below, you’ll see many of the services we offer at Roy Dental Care and the concepts we teach. You can click on any heading to learn even more about it.
An incorrect bite can be caused by a variety of things, including thumb sucking, incorrect swallowing pattern, improper tongue positioning, and missing teeth. Our bite optimization services provide our patients with healthy bites.
Regular dental cleanings remove all the plaque and tartar above and slightly below the gum line. If the patient’s gums are healthy, it is not necessary to go too far below the gum line. The plaque and tartar that are removed cannot be removed with regular brushing and flossing at home.
Special instruments are required to clean the teeth. That is why dental cleanings are so valuable to your hygiene.
Otherwise known as a deep cleaning, gum disease treatment is required when plaque and tartar have accumulated far below the gum line. Special instruments are required to clean the surfaces of the teeth below the gum line.
Most people understand the importance of brushing twice a day. However, many people have never been educated on how to get the best results from their efforts. Throughout the day and at night a layer of plaque forms on our teeth. That’s why it’s essential to brush every morning and night. Always use small circular motions!
Flossing is an essential part of keeping our teeth clean and our gums healthy. Gingivitis-causing plaque and tartar build up in between our teeth where our toothbrush cannot reach. To prevent gum disease like gingivitis, you should floss once a day.
Mouth rinses are very good at minimizing the amount of plaque that develops on our teeth. Mouth rinses that include fluoride, not only help the gums stay healthy, but they also strengthen the teeth, making them more resistant to cavities.
Although preserving as many of your natural teeth as possible is our goal, sometimes extractions are necessary. Reasons for extractions may include an emerging tooth pressing on other teeth, severe decay of a tooth, or an impacted wisdom tooth. We can perform most extractions right here in our office.
Tooth-colored fillings are the most common way to repair the tooth after a cavity is removed. Our dental office uses tooth-like materials that are safe, durable, and effective. They blend in with the remaining teeth, maintaining a very natural appearance.
Oral Cancer Screening
We will periodically perform a very simple check for any signs of oral cancer. We love to catch it as early as possible so that you can have the best chance of effective treatment. Plus, the screening only takes a few minutes!
